It is a nice video since good visual effects like speeding up the footage are used. Different camera angles like high-angle shot are designed and this can really impress the audience. There is a good use of charts to show the result. However, It will be more interesting if an on-screen narrator is used in the conclusion and recommendation parts. Some background music and subtitles can also be added to enrich the video.

I love that your video includes many different types of settings and the video is very interesting with the multitasking mini games.
However, the background noise is very loud sometimes and it can make your narration become very unclear. Fortunately, your subtitles help! And I think perhaps you can lower your background music so that the people’s voices can be much clear.

The aims of the topic “Multitasking” is well achieved, as quite a lot of interviewees are interviewed. Also the experiment chose is very relevant to the topic. Narration is also clear. However, there are some improvements can be made, for instance, subtitles can be added, this can make the video becomes audience-friendly, reduce the amount of similar pictures can also makes the video more interesting. All in all, the quality of the video is pretty good.

It is an interesting video with fluent speech and proper method of showing experiment results. They also can show their aims and method of experiment directly, it will provide a clear understanding to the audiences.

However, there are some points needed to focus, for example, the background noise is voice over, it is difficult to hear the voice from the narrator. Also, try to have various settings or location in the video rather than always focus in the City University.

And, the subtitle should not be embedded in the video because it will attract the audience attention and neglect the information shown in the video, and sometimes the color of it is not suit the background.

Lastly, as there is abundant information in the suggestion, try to provide some images instead of speak them only.

This video is informative and your group has a wide range of interviewees which is good. Also, most of you can speak fluent English in the video. The content is rich but there are few points that three of you have to pay attention.

First, background voice is too loud which affect the presentation of narrators. Sometimes I cannot hear clearly what you have mentioned.
Try to find a quiet place before you record the video next time as it is difficult to mute the background voice by using Powerdirector.

Second, I think subtitles are not required in the video. People will get distracted by these subtitles and miss out the animation or images shown in the video. Use subtitles when you want to tell the audience something important.

Third, title slides are not coherent in the questionnaire part. The first slide is “Question 1:)” while the rest of them are “Q2”, “Q3” etc. Pay attention to these small details.

Furthermore, the background are quite boring. Besides videos of interviews and pie charts, the theme of recordings are the same in rest of the time — a person stood in front of the camera and gave his/her speech. As there isn’t any other images and animation in the videos, people will just focus on the subtitles.
Sometimes the background are not related to what you want to share with us. At 5:46 and 5:54, the background are posters in corridors of CityU but they are not related to sleep debt at all. At 6:22, 6:44 and 6:58, backgrounds are actually the same. Avoid to use the same background over and over again to keep the video interesting.

It is good that to provide some pictures and words to illustrate the effect of melatonin in brain and light emitted. Part of the background music also attract audience to attend. Moreover, it is clear that to show the questions before showing the interviewees. At around 9:00, it is great that to explain more about light emitted and melatonin. However, the explanation of data has a little boring. If adding some words to let the reader follow is better. Some of the sounds are not clear. It would be better to improve the quality of sounds.

First and foremost, I love that you have tried to get out from the usual spot and tried to see multitasking from an different angle. The smooth flow of the video has also made the whole documentary consistent and allowed audience understand what multitasking actually is. The experiment conducted has also been very interesting and effective.

Also, the wide variety of background music has helped a lot in setting different scenes and kept the audience in the mood.

Yet, minors could be found like only having voice over throughout the video which made the video a bit too dull, definitely try adding in a narrator in between the introduction and transitions! The gap between 05:07-05:12 could also be shorten.

All in all, well done and good job!

I love the way you designed your video. You had shown a great deal of effort in choosing different locations. You had chosen different settings in City University of Hong kong or even the random traffic. Both are impressive! I appreciate the way you edited your interviews as well because I can get the answer from different interviewees and it allows me to think in different perspectives while watching the video. Most importantly, I enjoy the way you edited the videos of the interviewees trying out the multi-tasking game.It was quite fun to watch. The video is also very informative and it is able to draw the attention from the audience. The only downside will be the quality of the sound. The background noise makes it hard for me to focus on the sound of your introduction or even the sound of the interviewees. However, in general, your video is appealing and overall it’s good.

The groupmates of the video provide sufficient information including some data about sleep debt. The audiences can probably understand what sleep debt is.
Also, the questions of their survey are quite good to find out the interviewees’ sleep habits and the reasons for such habits. The choose of figures after the interview is also suitable since it shows the result of the survey clearly.

However, despite of the aids of subtitles, the noise from the background make me hard to listen to what the narrators said. Maybe choose indoor area will solve the problem.

First, i love the way that u guys decide to do the multitasking game differently from other 2 group doing the same topic. It is good that the experiment compare the efficiency when people multitask and when people focus on the work.
Moreover, the video has a fluent flow, the way that u guys present the topic can be easily understand and is attractive to the audience. Overall speaking, well done.

While watching your documentary, I thought you’ve tried to consider all detail, including the way of explaining the multitasking, experiment, and result. Especially, in the position of doing same topic, multitasking, I loved that you designed an obvious aim and created new experiment accordance with it. And, I also liked the way of showing your result , comparing the time of writing letters and number separately and together.

The only one thing that i felt sorry for yours is that you only did interview at first by asking “Did you guys multitask?” Why don’t you ask another questions of them to figure out their opinion about multitasking. I’d just like to know how the interviewees thought about it. However, it’s just my opinion.

Generally, your documentary is easy and interesting enough to attract the audience’s interest. GOOD JOB!

I especially like the idea of using a drama to introduce the basic concept of sleep debt as it’s really fun to watch and can give audiences a vivid image of what sleep debt is. Also, the B-roll for the introduction is edited appropriately resulting in a clear but not boring introduction.

For the interview and questionnaire, they are very informative and detail that give audiences useful information on people’s views and habits related to sleep debt nowadays. However, the questionnaire part is a bit dull with only the charts shown on screen. I think it would be more interesting to include some related B-rolls or drama scenes when presenting data.

Overall, it’s quite informative and interesting to watch!

I really like the way they edit the film for the documentary, which has included some drawings for explaination and some graphs for comparisons. This allows audiences to understand concepts easily.
Apart from the visual component, the soundtrack and background musics go well with each other, which do not distract audiences from their work.

On the other hand, the game they have conducted is attractive and it has raised my interest toward their results.

    Well done!

It is great that you included various settings and locations in the video to enrich the introduction. Also, I love the way you edit the video of the interview part. It is really interesting to include the clips of people playing the multitasking game. However, the noise in the background sometimes cover the narration. I think it would be better if you tune down the background noise.

  15. T02_Group 3_Zoey, Chris, Bernard
My first impression of the video is that it’s interesting and intimate. I especially like the interview part. It is real true to reflect an interview scene. Some interviewee may provide some funny answers, but it can attract the attention of listeners. Both narrators were confidence and smiling, speaking is also fluent, you give a very positive message to the audience, which is great. For the content, you show us the questionnaire, result, conclusion and suggestion. The structure of the video is clear and the information is rich.

You produce a great video in this project however there are some point that you can make it better.
    1. The background noise is too loud. I hardly hear some part of the narrating. Maybe you can put your microphone on the collar, the sound recording can be better. Or record you video at a relative quiet areas to reduce the effect of background noise.
    2. When you present the result of the questionnaire, I will suggest choose a brightness background. The black background is too gloomy and lethargy, which is not match.
    3. The film editing can be better. For example, at 4:11, the transition time is too short, I cannot see clearly what you want to say in the following content.
    4. In the last part, the background music is smooth and I also can hard the narrating clearly. I think you can add more this kind music at the front parts, not just at the ending. In addition, I advise that adding some funny photos to create more humorous effect.

Overall speaking, the video is intimate and interesting. I like it.

  16. T02_Group 1_Bobo, Natalie, Iris, Gary

The narrator at the beginning is good!
I like the performance of Gary. He is cute and funny. The idea of using a drama to introduce the sleep phenomenon is catchy. It is so real for me and my friends.
For the interview and questionnaire, they found many interviewees to answer the questions patiently, they are informative and give us the information on people’s opinions and habits related to sleeping. Besides, the data analysis is good, they can point out the main points accurately with the aid of the charts.

Overall speaking, I like this video and watched it twice!

  17. T02_Group 1_Bobo, Natalie, Iris, Gary

I really loved the way you guys present the idea of sleep debt to the audience, it’s really fun to watch and easy to understand, the “drama” can help the audience relate to their daily routine easily and raise their attention in the problem of sleep debt. The data presentation later on is also appealing and easy to follow.

Also, the narration is slow enough such that the contents are easy to understand even without the use of subtitles. The only minor bug would be the quality of sound is not really nice sometimes, I can hear puffing sound occasionally, adding some background music to the video to cover up some background noise would be best but overall speaking, the sound quality is good enough.

    All in all, nice job!
