  1. T07 Joanna, Charis, Natalie, Jay

Very intersting and informative videos with detailed data.

  2. What noise level makes us annoyed:Overall, creative presentation with good use of animation but needs to work on the flow of sentences and clunky cutting.

  3. T06 Camellia, Mandy, Junaid, Philip
Pay good effort on interviewing different people
Animation about the ear is also the good one

  4. Regarding the video made by T07 Heidi, Yoyo, Mavis and Erica, it was very professionally presented, yet still able to appeal to the non-specialist audience with the addition of many visual elements, such as animations, sketches. And very precise and concise wordings were used to explain the message behind, which could be easily comprehended by non-specialists.

    comments:
Nice video, the topic is clear and the video is kinda interesting. But i think the procedure lacked a bit of details. From my opinion, a bit more of the footage of different participants could be showed. But over all it is a good work.

  6. Comment to the video of T07 Heidi, Yoyo, Mavis, Erica
The opening is well-planned and the drama in the opening acts as an inspiring hook for the video. I like the part of animation. It makes the video become more energetic and interesting.

  7. T07 Joanna,chairs,Natalie, jay

Having informative data and well preparation without script. The flow is quite smooth but some parts shall be more fast.

  8. T07 Will, Clarence, Bernie, Rachel

Using PowerPoint made the presentation very clear and be easily understood.
The background music matched with the documentary.

  9. Comments for T06 Kelvin, Jackson, Vanetta, Wai Yin video
I think it’s better to add subtitles.
The camera shots are well designed and smooth. Some can give audience a better understanding on the topic.
However, most part of the narration taken outdoor can hardly be heard as the background noise is too lound. Plus, the background music are a bit too loud.
Moreover, experiments could be included to make the video more convincing.

  10. Replying the video by T07 Ricky, Christy, Kristy.

This group did well making this video. The introduction is very interesting and it catches the audience’s attention. The video also have a good use of animations, and it makes the presentation clear. Different kinds of data collected also help showing the effects brought by noise pollution. And there is a very convincing interview with a professor which strengthen the credibility of the video.

  11. Comment on T06 Celine, Henry, Kelvin, Jesse
    Better add a subtitle.
The experiment is great. It can raise the people’s awareness towards recycling issue.
Comparison between the people’s perception and experiment result reminds us to think twice before throwing things.
The message is very clear. Good!

  12. T06 Nora, Eric, Sam, Ray, Katy (Out of sight out of mind)

-Good organization and subtitles which helped to understand the contents more easily.
-More clear pronunciation for several part of the video since the voice is overlapping with the background sound(noise).
-Add some visual, sound effects, for example musics to provide interesting attraction or mood.

  13. T06 Ankina, Johnny, Cat, Venus
    Comment:
In this documentary, there are impressive pronunciation of the narrator and the animations and visual elements are fabulously edited by the editor. The objective of this documentary is stark and well presented. Overall, this documentary precisely draw the conclusion that gender is not a factor affecting food waste.

  14. Visual effects are amazing and script is clear and easy to understand for many videos.

  15. Comment for T07 Heidi, Yoyo, Mavis, Erica
The documentary contains fascinating graphics to explain theories as well as experiments, which allowed audience to catch up the content without any hardship. On top of that, it has detailed experiments and results while doesn’t make feel difficult or confused. Although the documentary didn’t provide subtitle, the clear and slow- paced narration let audience understand likely.
Overall, this group did a good job on designing the documentary and finding interesting results.

  16. T07 Heidi, Yoyo, Mavis, Erica

Here are some thoughts about your video after I watched it.
First, I really appreciate your using scientific concepts and theories which makes you professional. However, that how to make them accessible is what you should think of carefully and improve.
Second, some visual effects in your video make me very confusing. I wonder if others can understand them. If not, I sincerely recommend that you should do it in another way or just delete them.
Third, the color of some text is the same as the background, which makes it tiring for people to read and understand.
Fourth, I notice that you use repetition several times. To be honest, I can’t get the meaning of using it.
What’s more, some narration is accurate and clear, while some is not good enough. And I believe you can do better.

  17. T07 Mok, Shih, Yu

I have to say that your video is really good.
First, the music is very nice which gives me a feeling that I’m attracted to what you will say. But in the last part of the video, the volume of the music is a little larger, so that I can’t hear the clear narration.
Second, although the music of the connection of different parts is a little strange, the connection are natural and also attracting by using some visual effects.
Third, my favourite part is using visual effects when introducing the experiment. They make the experiment look simple and accessible, which is very important for scientists.
Fourth, once again, I am surprised that the interview is as excellent as other parts. You put several segments together without distracting me.
Again, what a nice video! I hope you will be better and better.

  18. T06 Camellia Junaid Mandy Philip
Very good video with good animations and creativity.
The data presentation is also clever.
The conclusion and the explanation is a little bit long and boring.
The b-roll of the conclusion part is editing the video.
It can be attractive but not related to this part.

  19. T06 Camellia, Mandy, Junaid, Philip
The flow of the whole video is really clear. It makes audiences easily understand their topic, method and results. Additionally, the frequency of changing among different scenes is addequent and appropriate, which makes people not feel boring while watching. The discussion part will be better if more details are added.

  20. There are not much visual effect being used in the video, to my observation, techniques such as b-roll, narrative shot and change of images are being used. It is suggested that by increase the use of different techniques, and prevent long shots over the same object/narrator could possibly make the video to be more interesting.

  21. T06 Camellia, Mandy, Junaid, Philip

You guys did a fairly great job!!! Congratulations!!!

There are indeed a lot of attractive factors within your scientific documentary. Some of them are as follows:
    – Proper use of visual effects (the animation is really fabulous!)
    – Great illustration of the experiment
    – Professional video editing skills
    – Innovative ending of the scientific documentary

I would also like to offer some suggestions for your reference.
    – The b-roll of the introduction part was well shot. However, it might be better if there is a voiceover illustrating these scenes.
    – You can further refine the transitions between different part to make the documentary fancier.
    – The clip of the first narrator is fine. However, for the second and third narrators, it seems that the audio and the video are not synchronic. So it looks a bit weird. It would be much better if you could make the audio and video synchronized.

Overall, this is an amazing and informative scientific documentary! 🙂

  22. T06 Celine, Henry, Kelvin, Jesse

Comment: Moderate speaking pace is used and thus it is easy to follow the narration. However, more animation can be added and the background noise could be covered by adding suitable background music.

  23. T06 Celine, Henry, Kelvin, Jesse
The video used lots of animation to illustrate the background and results. For the overall structure, it is not quite organized and clear. It is hard to find what the hypothesis is.

  24. T06 Javee, Ronald, Eric, Kelvin

Interesting presentation with detail and reasonably explanation.

  25. T06_Camellia, Mandy, Junaid, Philip
The video project is well supported by scientific model

  26. T06 Javee, Ronald, Eric, Kelvin

Interesting dramatic play with many diagrams and statistics for making people easily understood

  27. T08 Carol, Zoey, Katie, Tony

this group have a clear organization staring from the definition of noise, the experiment and findings.
The results are clearly described with suitable solutions.
The also used the different multimedia and visual effect like animations instead of some photos. it can be made the video more interesting and capture the audience’s attention. it can show the video is well-edited.

  28. In my opinion, this video is quite boring, especially in the part of discussing the result of experiment .
For the organization of the video, the presentation of information is clear and the opening is attractive for showing different kinds of pollution, but they mainly use b-roll and images in showing the result and improvement at the rest of the video which is really boring.
However, the accuracy of script is quite good and the pronunciation of them are clear.

  29. T07 Will, Clarence, Bernie, Rachel
    Comments:
The data research and table are finely made and record the whole process in a detail manner. The bridge between each table are well designed.
One more extra refinement maybe to have slightly more interviews.

  30. T08 James, Graham, Yoonhee
    Comments:
Nice Narration with clear table to illustrate the experiment. The general flow and plot is easy to follow and undestand.
One extra refinement may be is to have slightly more visual effect and or edited graphs.

  31. T08 Kurt, Clay, Charlie

The visual elements are good, with a very nice opening the screaming noise.
In terms of special effects the diagram for the biological explanation of the noise hearing mechanism graphically nice but could be better in terms of detail-ness’

The content is informative in certain areas, like the experiment but at some parts it just very standard.
It is definitely interesting to watch and easy to understand what they’re trying to do. But i think they could also have practiced to execute the speech more fluently

  32. T07 Ricky, Christy, Kristy

Nice & interesting drama “the noise buddies”.
Clear explanation on the procedure of the experiment.
The images are relevant & the visual effects are professional .

  33. T07 Martin, Wai, Maggie
Good video making skill and organization of the video, yet the ways of presenting experiment results can be more interesting, for example animations and background music can be added.

  34. T07 Heidi, Yoyo, Mavis, Erica
It have a lot of interesting animations to explain the noise pollution which I found is attractive. And the content, however, a bit confused at the experiment part. The background comes at perfect timing. Overall, I enjoy watching this documentary.

  35. T07 Will, Clarence, Bernie, Rachel

    1. The annotations of the bar charts are in low resolution so that i cannot understand the result well through the presentation of diagrams.

    2. The experiment result is not reliable due to few participants and the ignorance of different age groups.

    3. Subtitles provided help understanding of the content

  36. T08 HRK, Lylian, Frank, Agnes

The measure and experiment procedure is clearly shown.
    Good narration.

  37. I have watched the documentary from T06 Camellia, Mandy, Junaid, Philip. The investigation on how noise affecting different age group is well-designed and interesting, which brings a new concept to me that the effect of the noise varies with age as I thought it would be the same for everyone actually. The data is well-presented and stated clearly with easily understandable words

  38. T08 Kurt, Clay, Charlie

The opening is pretty funny, i can immediately relate that song to noise. The animation clearly explains how our ears enable hearing function, it is easy to understand. As for the interview part, it is interesting to know that human can only listen to a narrow range of sound, and the big time difference of noise toleration among people. Besides, thanks to your video, i realized there are simple apps available nowadays that can measure sound and well as other useful function.

  39. T07_Will, Clarence, Bernie, Rachel

It is delighted to see that the structure and content of the video is well-organised. It is easy for the audience to know what they are going to show us and what are the purposes behind that. For example, in the video, they told us they were going to find out the feelings of people towards noises, so they did some general interviews. This make the audience focus on the video as we know what is going on in the video! Added to the above, the content is rich and presented systematically. Audience can learn much in the video. At the same time, the visual effet of the video is great. This attracts the audience’s eyes and make us even more concentrated and interested in the video. Especially in the data presentation part, presenting data like graphs can be very boring. However, the visual effect of the video make it much less boring!

To conclude, this group’s documentary is good and they had done a great job.

  40. Comment for T06 Camellia, Mandy, Junaid, Philip

In terms of the visual aspect, the animation describing ear structure is good but the B-roll in the conclusion part seems not relevant to the narration. It should be more appropriate if they are put in the background of the credit list.

In terms of the overall structure, the video is quite informative and organised but the time for “talking head” and interviews is a bit long for me.

As for the narrators, I think they did a good job as they spoke confidently at proper speed.

    Overall, the video is enjoyable.

  41. Comment on T07 Heidi, Yoyo, Mavis, Erica’s video
The video is well organised and the pace of the video is moderate which audiences can catch up easily. Good use of animations with clear explanation. Therefore, the one who is not familiar with biological theories can understand better. Good choose of background music since it is not to loud and not to soft but very energetic. However, the number of people in each category in the experiment maybe not supportive enough.

  42. I would like to comment the video of ‘T06 Ankina, Johnny, Cat, Venus’. I think this group have used variety of visual elements so the documentary was attractive. While they narrating the analyze and conclusion, they used four-grid video of people having lunch as the background, I think it is more interesting rather than only narrating with photos or data. Also, the most attractive visual elements was in the end of the documentary, they show their group member names by stretching the paper. It’s really eye-catching so I think they can use this visual elements in the earlier parts, such as some parts showing important data or information. I think the documentary will look more fascinating in the middle so to attract people attention but not at the end. They really did a great job but I think there are a few things can be improve which is using microphone or earphone that has audio recording function instead of only record by phone. So the interview part can be clearer and with less noise. Also the narrator in the first part can give more intonations instead of using a low and flat intonations.

  43. T06 Camellia, Mandy, Junaid, Philip
The video’s organisation is good – procedures explained clearly, no redundant substance etc. But the animation part excluded how the difference of noise perception varies with age. Data analysis part is good, using different charts and simple explanation so that non-science audience can understand the content without any specific knowledge except for variance, which is a statistical tool and not everyone gets through it.
